The Future of Makeup

My personal performance project for my final year was titled ' The Future of Makeup' and aimed to explored one, of an infinite amount, route that hair and makeup design could take in the future. Using the concepts of and research into futurism, technology, evolution and avante garde styles, to fund my research and designing process (and also my overall aesthetic in the final shoot), I was able to create a character that embodies what I believe hair and makeup design could potentially be in the future. I created a 60 second video to display this, which was aimed at making the audience feel like they were flipping through a magazine and then getting a glimpse into my character in action. Through a series of high quality photos and short clips, allowing the audience to fully immerse themselves in the possibility of what the future could be, I displayed my character realisation in an editorial magazine style context - a reflection on what I think makeup and hair will derive from.
